Oregon Vineyard’s Tony Rynders To Be Featured Guest At March Wine Dinner
March 6, 2006, Charleston, S.C. – Tony Rynders, Winemaker at Oregon’s highly regarded Domaine Serene Winery, will be the featured guest at McCrady’s March Wine Dinner. This is a rare opportunity for Charleston’s wine lovers. Rynders’ visit to McCrady’s is one of only five such appearances that he will make throughout the entire country this year.
Of the “self-described red burgundy fanatics” at Domaine Serene, famous wine critic Robert Parker writes, “They share the passion, commitment, desire, and financial means to produce first-rate Pinot Noirs.”
And that passion and commitment have paid off -- Wine Spectator rated their 2003 “Evenstad Reserve” Pinot Noir at 92 points. Morrell Wine Experience lists the Evenstad Reserve as one the 100 Best Wines of the Year, saying it’s “as close to Burgundy as American Pinot Noir gets.”
This sort of acclaim is nothing new for Domaine Serene. Wine Spectator awarded 91 points to their 2003 “Grace Vineyard” Pinot Noir, and their 2003 “Fleur de Lis Vineyard” Pinot Noir and 2003 “Clos du Soleil” Chardonnay each earned 90 points.
The Domaine Serene Dinner will be held at McCrady’s on Thursday, March 23, 2006, with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:00 p.m. The evening will feature an elegant three-course meal to complement five outstanding wines from Domaine Serene, including the Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir and the Clos du Soleil Chardonnay. The cost is $95.00 per person, including wines, and everyone is invited. Reservations are now being accepted, but space is limited.
