McCRADY’S UNVEILS NEW DINING ROOM
The Society Room Offers Classic Elegance in an Intimate Setting
April 27 2007, Charleston, S.C.– After months of hard work by local craftsmen, McCrady’s has recently unveiled the classic restaurant’s newest dining room. Called the Society Room, this beautiful and intimate dining room is located in the space that was once McCrady’s trendy Lounge+Wine Bar.
The look of the Society Room is classic McCrady's. Entering the room, guests pass gently lit wine cellars under classic brick archways to find an elegant space of exposed English Bond brickwork, handcrafted embossed tin ceilings, and rich hardwood floors reflecting the glow of a radiant fireplace.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the Society Room will be part of McCrady’s main dining room seating and will feature McCrady’s acclaimed a la carte and chef’s tasting menus. But on Sundays through Thursdays, when business allows, the Society Room will be available for smaller private events.
With the Society Room now open, McCrady’s will reserve the Cypress Room, also on the first floor, for private events seven days a week. Together with the elegant and historic Long Room upstairs, the Cypress and Society Rooms will offer unprecedented options for private functions at McCrady’s. And, of course, all three rooms will offer the outstanding cuisine and impeccable Four-Diamond service for which McCrady’s is known.
Also, to ensure the intimacy of the Society Room, McCrady’s East Bay Street door is now permanently closed, and guests are asked to use the restaurant’s main entrance. It’s just a few steps down Unity Alley, marked by flickering gas lanterns.
